I took this class in the summer semester of 2020 and it was one of my health education requirements. I found this class very interesting because I learned about all the different types of drug classes and how they effected a person. I liked this class because I learned about a lot of new things that I did not know before taking the class and the projects were fun to do.
For one of our projects, I had to write a paper about a celebrity who had a drug problem. I chose Robert Downey Jr. and I liked writing this paper because I am a huge fan of Robert Downey Jr. especially because of his role as Iron Man in the Marvel Universe. I did not know Robert Downey Jr. battled with drug addiction and it was interesting to read about his life and how he overcame drug addiction. I talk about the three main drugs that he was doing and how how they affect a person. I also talked about an early warning sign that could have prevented him from developing a drug addiction and what treatment could help someone with a drug addiction. This class made me more aware of the signs of drug use and how they can effect the people around you.
