Reflection: The Bad News Letter assignment helped me the most with being concise and courteous when delivering disappointing news to someone. Before doing this assignment, that was not an issue I had ever really experienced. However, recently I have had to turn down two different job opportunities for various reasons, and because of this assignment, I felt far more equipped to do so. I was able to be professional and have positive correspondence with each manager following my bad news letter, but was also able to get straight to the point of the letter.
Additionally, the Persuasive Letter gave me good insight into how to fight for what I think is fair, and to not apologize for reasons that don’t need to be apologized for.
