Out of all the identities I believe that income, marital status, work experience (hands on and active job), and geographical location are the most important to me. To begin I want a job that allows me to make an income enough for standard living, as well enough money to live comfortably and eventually have a family. Marital status is important since I would like to be married by the age of 25. I also want a job that allows me to stay active, I want a job that keeps me busy and allows for me to always be moving around. Lastly I want to live on a farm back home, so in order to do so I must find a job in a small town around me.

Income can influence self-esteem in a positive or negative way. Your self-esteem may increase or decrease to the amount of income you are making. You may have a high self-esteem when your job is going well and you are making a high income. When it comes to mattering, those with a higher income may feel like they matter more in the world. They may feel more respected and like they matter in there company. Although if they are not making a high income they may having feelings of not mattering. Roles can be largely impact income. Roles can define your identity, show equality, and health. Lastly efficacy, the higher income may result in the higher feeling of efficacy. As income provides better access to resources.

Marital Status

To begin marital status can boost self-esteem in my opinion, if you are engaged in a healthy marriage. Marriage also is impacted by mattering. When in a marriage you must feel like you matter towards your partner. Roles in marriage have a large impact on your career. Each marriage carries different roles for each partner. Roles define how well the marriage is and how easy it is to juggle a career and marriage. Lastly efficacy is very important as it refers to the belief that one can experience it greater in tasks that you share with your spouse. An example would be both having separate jobs and contributing to the life you are creating together.

Work Experience

When it comes to self-esteem, it is impacted by how well you do in your projects in your career. You may have a high self-esteem in your career if the tasks you are doing are going well. Although your self-esteem may drop if you are struggling with your career. With a hands on job mattering is very important. For instance, I would like to work with families and children. If I am making a difference I will feel as if I matter to these families more. If I am making a positive difference in their lives, I will matter more towards the families. The roles I have in my career will impact how well and devoted I am towards my career. Lastly efficacy if I am striving in my career I will feel a high confidence level in what I am doing.

Geographical Location

If I am living and working in an area that is safe and supportive of my career, I will have a higher self-esteem then opposed to living in an unsupportive and deviant environment. Since I would like to help families in my community it is important to receive support from them. That is where mattering comes in, it is important to feel like I matter from the community in a career where I am helping them out. Roles play a part in the ability it is to travel and move in the location I am placed in. Lastly efficacy, living in a place that has access to education and a career that I aspire to partake in is very important.
