My favorite restaurant back home is an Italian restaurant called Manino’s. There are only three locations, and they are all located on Long Island. They are all sit-down locations, but one of them is also a take-out pizza place. The one by me is in a town called Oakdale, which is about a 5-minute drive from where I live. It is a medium-sized location, with quite a bit of parking, but you never have to worry about parking because they usually do valet parking. One interesting part about this location is that the owner has chickens that just roam behind the restaurant which is a little weird.

When people usually think of an Italian restaurant a lot of the time, they may think of Olive Garden or the Cheesecake Factory, but they don’t even compare to Manino’s. Everything at Manino’s is fresh, the pasta, the sauce, and the bread. The bread is the best thing ever and my family always fights over it. Everything there is so good and so worth the money. It is a little on the expensive side, with most dishes being around 19-25 dollars, but you get your money’s worth. After eating at Manino’s I get so stuffed I feel like I’m about to explode. When I go to Manino’s it’s always a 4-course meal. You start with the delicious bread, then go into a salad, then the main entree, and last but not least, the best part, is the dessert.

When you get to the restaurant, you are greeted by a nice hostess and brought to a table either in the lounge or the main dining room. My family and I prefer the lounge because our favorite server, Dawn is usually there. They start by offering bubbly or flat water and bringing bread, butter, and this oil dipping sauce, which is always fought over. After bread, our server reads the specials, which is always so cool because they usually have them memorized. Then we put in our appetizer order and entree order. I always get a Caesar salad for an appetizer and the ravioli for dinner. They always offer fresh cheese for the entrees as well. Both the appetizer and main course are always a 10/10, which is why I always get those. I have tried their other entrees like their chicken parmesan, and many other dishes, and they are always above an 8/10 in my book! After our entrees, it’s time for dessert. My favorite dessert is the lava cake a la mode. Which is a chocolate cake, with hot fudge in the middle and 2 scoops of ice cream on top. They also have a cookie a la mode, a weekly gelato flavor, and dessert specials as well. My family always get our own desserts but end up sharing because we always get so full. All of the desserts here are a 10/10 for me. I have never had a bad dessert from this restaurant!

Overall, this restaurant is a 10/10 for me. I highly recommend if you ever go to Long Island stop by and get a meal because it is so worth it!
