Reflection

You will want to talk about how it represents the different components of impression management and what we talked about with regard to the workplace and impression management.

  Your grade on this section will be based on how well you connect your ideas to the ideas related to impression management.

When drafting my cover letter and resumé, I wanted to make myself appear skilled to whoever would be reviewing them. I kept it pretty basic and tried to word it as simply as possible. I wanted people to recognize me as a professional and dedicated worker. Someone who would come in and get right to work.

I wanted them to think of myself as a critical thinker. I demonstrated that I know how to conduct myself in important situations. I can think through an issue rather than just acting.

I wanted to demonstrate that I was a professional. I structured my statement to address the reality that I don’t have much work experience. I wanted to show them that, despite this, I can work professionally. Also, be a good and handy worker.

I wanted to convey a good level of communication in my cover letter and resumé. I wrote that I was a good leader and a good strategist. I talked about my past experience as a coach and as a retail worker.

The last aspect I wanted to convey was teamwork. I wanted them to think that I knew how to handle myself in a system and that I was going to get right to work and be able to work with my other coworkers. I talked about how I used to help my teachers out with the freshman class in highschool and I learned how to get people strengths and weakness out.
