For the best survey, the questions must be clear. To avoid making questions confusing, there cannot be double-barreled questions, the respondents must be competent, and willing to answer. The survey questions must also be relevant, the items for the questions must be short, negatives should be avoided, and biased items and terms should also be avoided. My research question is “How do Family Fun Time Activities and income affect family involvement?” The survey question I will use to measure family involvement: “On a scale of 0 to 10, how involved was your family during this activity? 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10.” This question is a good question because it is not confusing question, and it measures family involvement during the Family Fun Time Activities. The survey question I will use to measure income is: “What is your household income? Less than 10,000, 10,000-30,999, 31,000-50,999, 51,000-70,999, 71,000-90,999, 91,000+” This question is close-ended and would get more truthful answers because they would not be as embarrassed to answer.
