The dependent variable for this Chi-square was assistance from the parents. This was asked on a 0-10 scale. The independent variable for this Chi-square was identified race. Respondents chose either, “Black/African-American”, or “White (Non-Latino)”. According to the Chi-square results (X2=5.063) there is a significant difference and racial identification does influence the amount of assistance the parent(s) give to the child.
