Athletic Training began to rise in the late 1970s in the US led by the movement of a few college football programs. The term “strength experts” was initially used for these coaches that were used to maintain strength . However, research on enhancing performance in athletes influenced the name of Strength and Conditioning coaches.
The academic requirements to be a Strength and Conditioning coach are a bachelors in Kinesiology, or some jobs will require a masters in kinesiology.

- There are similarities between Scott’s resume and my resume because we both include an objective or goal, educational background, work experience, and awards. Also, we both included athletic achievements in our awards section of our resumes.
- Our resumes differ in relevancy of information and amount of information. Scott’s resume contains more relevant Exercise Science work experience than mine does. Also, he has three certifications, where as I have none.
- To make my resume more like Scott’s resume, I need to get more Exercise Science related work experience and also become First Aid and CPR certified as soon as possible.
