Letter To My Freshman Self

Freshman Me,

Be bold, be confident, be present, and be yourself.

College will one day be a thing of the past, but it will be a very important thing. For you, college is your first time being independent, it’s where you solidified who you wanted to be, and it gave you the opportunity to build your confidence and skill.

You will learn that plans are made just to get the adventure started. Plans give you a start point, direction, and inspiration. You will change your four year plan three times, then on the fourth time, change it to a three year plan. Although this sounds difficult, you will be ready because you will gain more passion for education that you thought possible, learn that your ability to understand math was so that you can help teach others, and be ready to start teaching.

Continue to be inspired by your family, friends, classmates and professors. They will help you to change, to grow, and they will serve as great role models. Remember, Each person that you come into contact with, has immense value and uniqueness; what you learn from that will help you to become a better person and teacher.

So, go out there, get after it, and do your thing!

Sincerely,

Future Molly
