Through Longwood and the Honors College community, I have been able to meet amazing people and grow as a person. I found my second home in my sorority which I could not have done without the confidence the honors college instilled in me. They encouraged me to the best version of myself early on my freshman year and helped me grow. The honors retreat helped with that and going through the retreat as a mentor demonstrated how much I had grown already in a year.
I was given a support system where no matter where I go, I find someone in honors. We are all connected through this community and I know I could go up to any of them if I had problems with classes. We are all going through similar experiences with our majors and classes and my honors peers are always there to support me.
