Grooming Abuse Behaviors

Any signs of isolation, secret relationships, hugging, receiving gifts, receiving attention, touching, wrestling, and tickling. With the child being in a vulnerable state and not knowing the signs of grooming and what might be too far with a trusted adult. Although not all adults behavior towards children can be classified as grooming but if the behaviors are told to be kept a secret from others’ this is a strong sign the behavior may be grooming. It is important for children to report any treats or gifts from others’ to their parents, when they are with an adult alone, teach them to trust their instincts about a person and if they feel uncomfortable in a situation to tell someone.
