The dependent variable of this Chi-Square is how much the parents were involved in the activity provided. The variable was recoded into two categories which were low and high involvement. The independent variable for this Chi-square was how often parents attended head start programs. This variable was recoded into two categories which were low attendance and high attendance. 18 respondents reported having low attendance and low involvement, while 63 respondents reported having low attendance and high involvement. Nine respondents reported having high attendance and low involvement, while nine respondents reported having high attendance and high involvement. The Chi-Square test result was 5.792 which gave a significance of P = 0.17 which shows that there is no significant difference between the categories. Therefore, attendance levels did not influence parental involvement.
