Dr. Paul Hanstedt, Professor of English at Roanoke College.  Dr. Hanstedt was named the 2014 Virginia Professor of the Year by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.  He was one of the campus leaders in Roanoke College’s revision of their general education program, and he consults with universities both in the U.S. and abroad about matters of liberal education, course design, and writing pedagogies. He is the author of the book, General Education Essentials: A Guide for College Faculty.
