Student retention and persistence to graduation continue to be important institutional goals for colleges and universities in the United States. As teachers, research mentors, and advisors, we are invested in student learning and development. How do we ensure that student learning is a key component in our discussions about retention and graduation? How do we define student success? How do we create learning environments that stimulate student engagement and their desire to learn? What institutional and faculty engagement strategies work best to promote learning for all students? How do we implement these practices effectively for both student and faculty success?
The Center for Faculty Enrichment (Cafe), the Digital Education Collaborative (DEC), and Greenwood Library invite you to join us for a day of interactive exploration of these questions. In addition to the keynote address, participants will choose from a variety of sessions focusing on the institute theme. The Institute is free for all Longwood faculty and staff, faculty at Hampden-Sydney College, Old Dominion University, and University of Mary Washington.
