I found an early love for filmmaking and media. As a 14 year old, I was accepted into the Chesterfield County Public Schools specialty center for Mass Communications. This where I began experimenting with filming, video editing, journalism, and radio work. The more that I worked with video editing and production, the more the I fell in love with it. When I toured Longwood University in 2016, I saw the television studio and radio station that I would have the opportunity to work with if I attended the University. That is what sold and founded me a home in Farmville, Virginia.

In my sophomore year at Longwood University, I created a promotional video for the restaurant, One19. This video was created before the restaurant was officially open. It focuses on the journey that the owner went on in order to establish this restaurant. It also informs about what will be offered and what interested consumers want to know. In this same year I created a promotional video for Hull Springs Farm as class assignment. This year was a transitional one for me as I realized that I had the ability to make videos on professional level.

In my junior year, I have been required to create different videos with little room for error. I have learned how to edit in a more professional and time-efficient manner. I have created news packages and promotional videos that clients are proud to release. In addition, I have gained experience with filming live sports through ESPN+. Shooting live footage for Big South Network through ESPN has shown me the excitement that comes with live and action packed sporting events. I also gained experience through my departments television studio. I have learned how operate both behind the scenes and in front of the camera which has taught me countless lessons about the world of live broadcasting.

I am dedicated to work in this field of production because I love the creativity and passion that comes with it. Video is one of the purest forms to relive and promote the most enjoyable parts of life. I want professionally document these moments for other. I love the fast paced atmosphere that comes with it, as well as the the endless possibilities to continue learning and improving.
