English 150 completely changed how I viewed writing. Before, I did not enjoy writing and viewed writing as a simple process that I understood well. However, throughout the course I learned to see how my personality and upbringing affected my writing style. Further, I became familiar with research writing and learned to approach argumentative writing as a conversation – bringing the reader “up to speed” on the research that has been done, then introducing your niche, and finally presenting your opinion on the topic.
