Brochure

The second major assignment of the course was to create a brochure marketing a new product or service. My group marketed a product called The Handheld Portal Device, a transportation device, developed by Aperture Laboratories. An effective brochure is well-formatted, attractively and dynamically designed, and includes well integrated text and graphics. The format of the brochure follows the AIDA design principle. AIDA includes attention, interest, desire, and action. Throughout the process of writing the brochure, I learned about and practiced how to select information to include in a such a brief document and how to format including graphics in a professional manner. This document allowed me to target course learning outcome four, to create professional documents that uses design – standard formats, layout, and use of graphics. My group’s brochure incorporated graphics on each panel. We chose graphics and images that would enhance the text included on the page. We also incorporated at least one AIDA design principle on each panel of the brochure. For example, we included the action principle on the last panel when we offered a discount for ordering online for a limited time. Completing the brochure in a group represented course learning outcome six. Overall, the brochure taught me how to balance graphics with essential information.
