Welcome!
My name is Kelly Williford and I am a senior at Longwood University. I am majoring in Liberal Studies with a minor in children’s literature. I plan to become an elementary school teacher after graduation. From a very young age I knew that I wanted to become a teacher. My grandmother inspired me to become a teacher because she taught fifth grade for thirty-five years.
This eportfolio has been created as my final exam for my English 470 class, professional writing. The purpose of this eportfolio is to be able to display all of the assignments that I have completed through this course. Class assignments have challenged me to write professionally in order to prepare me for the future. This course has shown me how to be professional in my writing while incorporating the eight C’s, the three appeals, and the AIDA method.
Course Learning Outcomes:
1) analyze and produce writing genres according to the rhetorical situation of workplace contexts;
2) create professional documents that use plain English principles (to targeted audience);
3) conduct research to create content for a variety of professional documents (memos, letters, reports, etc.);
4) create professional documents that use design principles;
5) practice oral communication skills to present content effectively (enhanced with multimedia tools);
6) participate productively in collaborative projects.
