Internship

Over the Spring 2021 semester I completed an internship as the teaching assistant (TA) for the Intro to GIS course taught by Dr Labosier within the Environmental Science major. Throughout this time, I did things most interns do such as making copies and scanning documents into the computer, but the most important thing I got to do was hold office hours each week for students to attend for aid on textbook assignments or any questions pertaining to the material. It was such a cool opportunity to help teach a class I was just learning in a couple semesters ago! It gave me a whole new understanding of the material because I had to go further beyond just being able to complete assignments, I had to know the material enough to relay that learning onto other students. This TA position taught me communication skills as well as teaching skills which are extremely useful for any job environment, which I think will be a huge advantage I’ve obtained above other candidates.
