Scholarship

Scholarship is an extremely important aspect of not only education and my time here at Longwood, but of life in general. I have always loved learning and I think it is important to not only be extremely knowledgeable in one area, but to learn as much as possible in a variety of topics in order to become adaptable and versatile when going into a career. Longwood instils this in us by requiring students to take a variety of courses centered around pillars, perspectives, and civitae. We take not only courses to further our education in our major topics, but additional courses to become well rounded with knowledge in a variety of subjects, which helps develop creativity and different ways of looking at problems and forming solutions, communicating with diverse groups of people, and much more. These are key components of scholarship that I will take with me and remember for the rest of my life in graduate school as well as in the job world.
