Brochure

Reflection:

Creating the brochure allowed me to practice making professional documents that use plain English and design, conducting research, and participating productively in collaborative projects. With two partners, we had to come up with a product that doesn’t yet exist and market it. This is another project that relied heavily on writing for the audience. We knew why our product was great, but we had to be able to get that message across to consumers and make them want it as well. The limited space required me to use the 8 C’s: clear, concise, concrete, complete, courteous, coherent, constructive, and correct. Working as a group, we each had to make sure we had the same vision for the final product, make sure our writing styles didn’t conflict and draw away from the message we were trying to get across, and each had to put in the work equally. Furthermore, it required an element of design. The theme, font, colors, pictures and directional flow were each picked deliberately to create an aesthetically pleasing brochure.
