Formal report

Reflection:

The formal report required me to exercise all of the course learning outcomes, including conducting research, oral presentation skills, working collaboratively, and writing documents that are common, use plain English, and use design. The formal report was one of the most extensive reports I have ever written. It took meetings, planning, delegation, and a lot of time to put it all together. It was tricky to find the right balance of ethos, logos, and pathos, knowing that the bulk of it required the straight reporting of facts. It was also difficult to keep personal opinions out of the paper. Everything we said had to be objective and based on the data we received. I enjoyed doing the research and then applying it to our specific selection of clothing sites- it required us to make connections and to be able to articulate clearly to the company we were hired by what they should and should not do with their website. This document also required creating appendices and charts and including them appropriately. I’ve never had to make them before, so I now have several new skills that I can use in the future.
