Scholarship is they principle element behind college. It’s what you’re here to achieve. How much you want to receive scholarly is ultimately left up to the individual alone. You get in what you put out. I am grateful that I have had professors at Longwood who hold me to a high standard and are pushing their students toward a high scholarly standard. I have had the opportunity tough my honors and non-honors courses to engage in civil debate and enhance our thinking, participate in hours of intellectual and logical debate one on one with professors, and be given the responsibility to push my knowledge further with support from my professors. I also appreciate Longwood’s ability to recognize and applaud high scholar achievement through national organizations, awards, secret societies, and many other ways to push their students to a higher level.
My friends and I as we were inducted into Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Society for our academic achievement.
