PRISM Research Program

I participated in the Perspectives on Research in Science and Mathematics (PRISM) program at Longwood University during the Summer of 2022. PRISM is an eight-week summer research program where participants work directly with a Longwood professor to research a topic in a specific STEM field. I worked with another student named Nick Freeman and a mathematics professor named Dr. Steven Hoehner. We conducted research on the topic of determining the maximum surface area polytope with eight vertices inscribed in the unit sphere. Our final result was a research poster that we used during the PRISM poster session and will be used for the Fall Showcase for Research and Creative Inquiry, and a research paper that has been published by the Involve Journal of Mathematics.
