Course Journal

For the course journal entry’s below, I worked on my knowledge of a lot of different transferable skills. Before this class,  I wrote for my high school newspaper and learned a great deal from that because you would have your writing published. From this, I was able to pick up on the new skills that we used for the course journal entries. These entries and readings allowed me to identify ethos, pathos, and logos in other writings. In specific I was able to “understand the nature of public discourse/debate as determined by purpose, audience, and context” in a deeper meaning by looking at the “Rhetoric of Hitler’s Battle”. One of the challenges I faced was understanding the language of original texts and translating them. Understanding the context of something that was written almost 100 years ago is something that I haven’t had much experience in and I’m glad I was able to improve on this.
