I took this course Spring of 2017.
This class covered my goal 8 requirement as well as one of my Social Science major requirements. This class was by far the most difficult class I’ve taken so far at Longwood. Since I am an active learner it is very difficult for me to absorb information through reading and lectures, and that was all this class consisted of. On top of that, I am not a fan of Political Science as a subject either.
This class pushed me to learn more ways of studying in order to pull my grade up. It made me step out of my comfort zone and communicate with my professor the struggles I was having. Dr. Carver was very understanding and very willing to help me be successful in her class. I studied as hard as I could and managed to pass the class with the grade I needed for my major requirement.
This class mostly consisted of taking notes and studying for tests, but below is an attached copy of a series of short essays I did in response to one of our reading assignments.
