Correspondence

Reflection:

One of the assignments of this course is to create a Bad News Letter and Persuasive Letter. The goal is to choose one of the prompts from the given scenarios and write a letter to each situation. So, for Bad News Letter I chose to write as a manager to the staff that the casual Fridays have to be canceled. I thoroughly enjoyed writing this letter which can help me in the future for the professional world. So, for this I was able to create professional documents that use plain English. This led me use the easiest words to describe what’s going on and what’s going to take away. Also, I was able to conduct research to create content for a variety of professional documents. I was able to research further about the casual dress can affect how employees are doing their work. The second part of this project is to create a persuasive letter. So, the prompt I used this for this part is that I am a manager of a firm, Fit-R-Us, that sells fitness equipment and wanted to persuade the president of the hotel chain Sleep-Eaze to add fitness centers that use Fit-R-Us equipment. This letter was fun to write, and I really enjoyed making this. For, this part I was able to create professional documents that uses design, layouts. I was able to create a flyer to persuade the president to purchase the equipment. Also, I was able to analyze and produce writing genres commonly found in the professional world for both writings.
