This course was to prepare me for being a Resident Assistant at Longwood University. During the class we learned about everything that can affect students at Longwood, from adjusting socially, coping with the stress of classes, to students who are struggling with addiction. This class not only prepared me to be a great RA, it gave me unlimited opportunities to grow socially. While not only having to complete course work in the classroom, we had to participate in programs put on by other RA’s from different communities at Longwood. As an RA who works off campus at Lancer Park, I participated in several RA programs that were on campus. I was able to receive many new ideas for programs that would benefit my residents who live on my hall. For the 2018-2019 school year, I will continue to be the RA for Lancer Park North, 4th floor!
