English 165 was my favorite honors class so far. My professor, Dr. Haffner made the class both fun and educational. Prior to the class, I was very nervous about it since I hadn’t taken any upper level English classes in high school or college. I expressed my concerns with my professor at the beginning of the semester, and he worked with me to make sure I was successful in the class. I liked how the papers built off each other in technique and difficulty. I also liked the open ended instruction of the paper topics because it allowed for more creativity. When we wrote papers, we would have two rough drafts and two peer review days (with the exception of the final exam), and that really helped with organizing ideas since you couldn’t wait until the night before to write the paper.
Another small detail about the class that I liked was when he graded papers, topics, or projects he would write comments and feedback in canvas. This not only praised you for things done right, but also helped you understand where there could be improvements.
