Professional Portfolio

Hello, my name is Lexi Stenback and I am from Forest, Virginia. I am currently a senior at Longwood University, studying Communication Science and Disorders with a double minor in Special Education and Neurostudies. I aspire to be a speech-language pathologist in a children’s hospital specializing in swallowing.

I am a detail-oriented, a strong communicator, and a well-organized individual who is interested in always learning more in the field of speech-language pathology. In addition, I also possess a bubbly personality and am compassionate, which are all traits that will allow me to be able to have a stronger relationship with clients.

I completed 25 observation hours through the Infant- Toddler Connection of the Heartland in Farmville, Virginia during the spring semester of 2018. Observing at Infant-Toddler Connection of the Heartland, gave me the opportunity to observe evaluations and therapy sessions. Prior to completion of my observation hours, I applied for a student-office assistant position in the Infant-Toddler Connection of the Heartland office. I was offered the position for this school year, August 2018 to May 2019. Having this experience has allowed me to learn more about the field of speech-language pathology, and also learn about physical and occupational therapy.
