Hello, my name is Sarah Michaelis. I’m from Athens, GA and currently live in Hiawassee, GA. I am a Liberal Studies Major with a concentration in Elementary Education at Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia. I have a licensure in kindergarten through sixth grade. The passion I have with working with kids came at a very young age. Naturally, I am a caretaker and enjoy making a difference in people’s lives. Teaching is my passion and I couldn’t see myself in any other profession. Through the Longwood University Teaching Program, I have acquired over 300 hours in the classroom. I have experience in 8th grade, 1st grade, and 3rd grade and have enjoyed it thoroughly. I am so excited for this next chapter of my life and to one day have my own classroom. In this blog, I will be posting research on how incorporating art and movement in the classroom can improve comprehension. Enjoy!
