The correspondence project, creating a bad news letter and a persuasive essay, helped me further learn into our second goal, creating professional documents that use plain English. These documents helped me put plain English into action and learn how to think from the audience’s point of view to make sure they get the best service and interaction possible. Specifically in the bad news letter, coming up with ways to make the bad news sound positive to create a better interaction between the receiver and the company. In addition, this project targeted goal number one, analyzing and producing writing genres commonly found in the professional world. Letters with the goal of persuading or delivering bad news are common in the professional world and a good skill to have mastered in this class.
