Principles of Macroeconomics; HON ECON 218

For another honors course, I choose Principles of Macroeconomics with Dr. Thomas PlaHovinsak. The content of the class was taught in a lecture intensive way with some classroom discussion. I thoroughly enjoyed the content of this class. Over the course of the last fifteen weeks, we learned about a wide variety of topics from inflation to unemployment to monetary and fiscal policy. Learning about these topics has set me up well with skills ready for real-world application. I understand how monetary and fiscal policy is made and how it influences people and where to find data informing me and others about our options. I understand how unemployment is calculated and how the types of unemployment determine the fairing of the economy.

The honors portion of this course was conducted through the submission of podcasts. Students were required to submit five podcasts throughout the semester on the topics we had learned. Our final podcast, we had free reign of topics to choose from as long as it related to economics. I choose to write a script based on the quote “Economics and politics are two sides of the same coin”. I talked about how the government influencing the type of  economy and price system and how goods and services are allocated to consumers. I used things that I had learned from both Microeconomics and Macroeconomics to form a podcast, I am really proud of.

Welcome to episode 4 of Dr
