Goal 9-Introduction to Anthropology (ANTH 101)

I took this course to satisfy my general education goal 9, focusing on diversity. I chose to reflect on a paper our professor assigned out of no where in place of an in class exam.

The first two exams in this course were both straightforward with the material covered in class, keeping me well within my comfort zone. When exam three was supposed to occur within the next couple of days, my professor had decided he wanted to assign an essay in its place. The essay focused on a theme we had briefly gone over with two video examples. Our professor wanted us to use our textbook and these videos for resources to approach the idea of race and its place in biology vs society. With such short notice, I was not prepared for a research essay and had to transition myself from studying to researching. I chose this example because it gave me a lesson in how any situation could change from how you expected it to happen. I stressed myself out at first working on this because of how the first two exams came so easy to me but it took much more concentration and effort from me with this essay.

Below is my essay exam that had stressed me out more than it probably should of. After getting deeper into my argument however, I realized to not over complicate the situation because of the non preferable situation.
