Scholarship

I embody the pillar of Scholarship in the fact that I firmly believe that all throughout life we are constantly learning. Even if I am not consciously studying subjects like public speaking, history, or even computer programming I am learning in the aspects of relationships, social boundaries, and many other life lessons.

During my first year at Longwood I built up my Scholarship pillar during my Honors courses. This includes Society and Monsters, my Citizenship 110 course. During this course the professor constantly challenged us to think outside of the box. Once completed she would then push us to go further. While this frustrated me, I was able to adapt and learn quickly to accommodate her ever changing expectations.

I am constantly learning during my life. Whether it’s by watching bad drivers, through my own mistakes (don’t touch the pizza rack when it’s just left the oven), or in a formal class room I believe myself to be a Student at large. In other words I am a student with no bounds. I will explore ever aspect of my world and unfortunately for some, I am too stubborn to just “give up” when I meet a roadblock.
