This honors course was able to open my eyes to a whole new aspect of music I had never experienced.  I have been passionate about music my whole life but this is the first time I have taken sort of a history or in depth course on it.  This course showed me how music has changed overtime and how music affected the world.  We even looked at film music and how the music of a movie affects the audience.  I used to never pay much conscious attention to the music in movies but not, after this course, it is one of the things I look forward to.   The honors part of this course allowed my classmates and I to go to an Opera and experience a lot of the things we had been learning in class.  This is not something i would’ve ever done myself and I am grateful to have been able to go and get out of my comfort zone.

 

The only main assignment in this course was the final paper where I chose a specific song and related it to my major.  This assignment can be found on the general education tab under goal four.
