Special Topics: Love, Sex, and Friendship

The honors special topics course that I took was called Love, Sex, and Friendship and was a type of philosophy class.  We read Plato, Socrates, and many other ancient philosophers.   This course really challenged me.  I had never taken a class like this before and struggled to understand the concepts and confusing texts.  Throughout the course, my reading and analyzing skills were sharpened and by the end I was understanding the material much easier.  I learned that I had to really read every sentence, sometimes multiple times, in order to comprehend it.  This class helped me figure out how I learn best when it comes to that type of work.  I plan to apply what I learned about myself in this class to future courses.

We were required to write multiple essays, or reflections, through this course with a variety of prompt options that related to the material being focused on.  This one in particular is focusing on the value of friendship.
