Community Health is a nursing major requirement at the senior level. I enhanced this course with another honors student through a community education project. My peer and I are both interested in women’s health so we decided to study the effects of proper birth control education on college aged females. We specifically focused on common myths and misconceptions about contraceptives. We chose four of the most popular birth control methods among the population and created an educational power point. We created a pre and post survey for the participants to fill out as saw major positive results in the population’s understanding of contraceptives after our education.
