For this goal I was placed into Spanish 212 (202) to meet the goal.  This course expanded not only my knowledge of the Spanish language but expanded my knowledge of Spanish culture, literature, and art.  This is the first Spanish course where the language was not necessary the main focus.  The focus was to enhance my understanding of another culture through many different views.  This course is exactly what a general education course is here to do because it made me a more culturally sound person and took me out of my normal view to show me a different piece of the world and life in general.  This course load became a bit of a challenge for me because my major classes were taking over my mind and time where Spanish class was the last class I was focused on.  I had to learn how to focus on my major classes but also allow an adequate amount of time and focus to this course as well.

 

Throughout this course, I was assigned multiple essay assignments every couple of weeks in Spanish of course.  The first essay topic was different way knowing Spanish will benefit me in life and how I will use it in the future.  This essay not only gave me practice writing in Spanish, it also showed me how useful this language can be to me throughout my life and why this course is important.
