Study Abroad

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, I was unable to participate in a traditional study abroad program; however, I was able to enroll in a virtual program in the summer of 2020. In this program, I took one, three credit course called Comparative healthcare which you can read more about in the General Education tab under Goal 9: Diversity. To make this course have a study abroad component, the program facilitated many virtual meetings, lessons, classes, and tours for enrolled students to enjoy. The great thing about these virtual meetings were that I did not only have access to the program or country that my course included. I was able to attend any meeting I wanted to within the entire study abroad program not just those located in the United Kingdom. A few of the meetings I attended include a tour of a historic museum in Spain, an Italian cooking class, and a salsa dance lesson. These classes allowed me to interact with professors and students from all over the world and open my eyes up to different cultures that I had never seen before.
