Research day was an amazing development opportunity for me.  This was my first one i ever participated in.  It was for my foundations of nursing course where we had to pick a topic pertaining to the care of patients that we could research and find out the effectiveness of it.  My group chose to research the effectiveness of different measures to prevent pressure wounds.  We did all of our research on four different types of preventative measures and then chose which one we believed was the more effective and best all around.  This research project taught me many things and allowed me to grow as an individual.  It helped with my research and teamwork skills as well as showed me how to utilize all of the resources available to me.  The research day itself gave me another opportunity to work on my presentation skills and professional skills in front of an audience.  I not only learned and grew a lot from this experience, I also had fun doing it since it pertained to what I am passionate about in life.
