Scholarship is one of the three pillars of the Cormier Honors College. Through the Longwood and Honor community, students are encouraged in their academics. From professors who are there to help and encourage students in and out of class, as well as events such as the research showcase, help students succeed in their academics. Students are provided avenues to showcase research they are passionate about or encouraged to get out of their comfort zone in their academics by their classmates and professors. Within Honors, students are required to take Honors courses. However, these courses are not necessarily more challenging than other courses but the information is presented in a different way. Because of this, Honors courses are my favorite classes to take as the information is presented in different and interesting ways that allows me to challenge myself in a variety of ways.
