Artist as an Introduction

Hello everyone!

My name is Savannah Grammo and I’m a freshman art education major here at Longwood! I did research on one of my favorite artists of all time, Salvador Dali. He was one of the key founders of the surrealist movement, which started in the early 1920’s. Many people only associate Dali with his most famous work, “The Persistence of Memory”, but he produced many more works in his lifetime. Dali died at the age of 85, due to heart failure as well as respiratory complications.

Read more about Salvador Dali here, and the surrealist movement here!

Below are some of my favorite pieces of Dali’s, enjoy!
