Honors is a family.
My first memory of honors is moving into Wheeler, my dorm, in August. There were different groups of honors students who carried all of my belongings into my room. My family was only responsible for unpacking my belongings. After we were finished unpacking, it was time for my family to leave. I wanted to cry and not leave my room, but I knew that there was a picnic that I had to attend. At each honors retreat, each freshman is paired with an honors mentor. My honors mentor, Ashley, made me excited to go to each day of the retreat and answered all of my questions about honors and Longwood. Ashley made me love Longwood and want to be an honors mentor to freshmen. Honors is a family, which makes Longwood my home away from home.
