Social Psychology

Social Psychology was a psychology elective to fill up some requirements for my psychology minor. This class was about how social situations affect individual behavior. A major concept of the class was how social situations are actually more influential than personality in influencing behavior. I found this class very interesting because it covered topics that I had heard about but didn’t quite know the technical term for the concept. I really enjoyed how the professor, Dr. Carkenord, put his slideshows together. He made them fun and relevant to us, the students. I believe this helped make the material easier to comprehend and understand. He also made his lectures very interactive by using polls and fun little quizzes in his powerpoints.

The artifact I chose is a film analysis I wrote about the movie The Stanford Prison Experiment. I enjoyed watching this film in class because it combined two subjects that interest me: criminal justice and psychology.
