Murder and the Killing Culture
This class counted as an elective for my degree, so it was not required. I could have chosen any other elective to fill this requirement. However, I chose to take this class because it focused on not just the types of murders law enforcement deals with, but also what may drive someone to commit a murder and the characteristics and circumstances that might persuade their actions. In class, we would follow the professor’s PowerPoint, but we were provided with videos of real life examples of the murder types. I found it really beneficial because I could see real life examples that would help me apply what I just learned. This class was in person but halfway through the semester, the professor had to switch the class online. After the class went online, all PowerPoints and any extra assignments were assigned to us weekly through modules on Canvas.
