In addition to Service and Scholarship, Community is an Honors Pillar. Community emphasizes the need to actively participate and to improve our communities around us.
By being in Honors at Longwood University, we are inherently part of at least two communities: Honors, and the greater Longwood community. Honors values teach us that we should strive to participate actively in these communities.
I try and participate in the Longwood community through student organizations. I am currently the vice president of two organizations and the president of one. I am the founder of the Jewish Culture Club and the co-founder of the LEGO Club.
Honors has enabled me to build community in several ways.
