By completing a letter that required addressing hypothetical “bad” news, I learned that in professional writing there should be no negative tone or language. There are ways to address a problem constructively and considerately to avoid controversy or causing offensive. It was challenging to find balance between communicating bad news and keeping the satisfactory of my audience. I avoided certain vocabulary such as “can’t”, “cancelled”, or “no longer”, and “bad-news.”

Here we have my persuasive letter. This was an extremely complex document to create because it required a decent amount of credibility. I conducted extensive research here to provide data and facts that would showcase my credibility. In professional writing, there should always be a balance of creativity and credibility in a persuasive document because your audience needs to know that you are both passionate and knowledgable about the topic. This document appeals to ethos, logos and pathos.
