Creating a brochure was one assignment that my partner and I had a lot of fun with. It was a joy to find simple small pictures to make our brochure look clean and attractive. The design aspect was fun to do and I think that these skills to the real world. I feel prepared if an employer were to ask me if I could put together a brochure. This assignment helped me with number four on our Course Outcomes list. It fulfills it because the brochure was a professional document that involved design through the use of appropriate graphics. Additionally, this assignment satisfied goal two as well because our captions and sections of text needed to be clear and concise, two of the eight C’s. IT is crucial to be clear and concise so it is accessible to all audiences.
One tough thing about this assignment was getting around certain technical issues. Occasionally it was difficult to upload images into the brochure so they would fit around the text appropriately. I think I am now better prepared to handle technical issues. There was also an aspect of research in this since my partner and I looked at sample brochures from other companies to get an idea about what ours should look like.
