The Care Team is made up of academic and student affairs staff members. This group meets to discuss and address individual student concerns.  Students or staff members with concerns, either about a specific student or general student behavior, can reach out to the Care Team.

CENTER FOR ACADEMIC SUCCESS

Located in the library, the office includes a writing center, speaking center, and tutoring cente. You can refer students (they even have extra credit forms), or request an academic success session for a class.

The Dean of Students is Laurence “Larry” Robertson, and he assists students with concerns outside of the classroom. He is a part of the Care Team, and collaborates with many different offices across campus to provide the best student experience. DIGITAL EDUCATION COLLABORATIVE

This office supports students who need assistance with technological resources including Canvas and WordPress. Student Instructional Technology Collaborators (ITCs) assist their peers and provide training sessions.

DISABILITY RESOURCES

This office works to increase inclusion and accessibility for  everyone in the university community. Students work through the office to receive accommodations for classes (e.g. note taking and extended testing time), housing, and technology.

DIVERSITY & INCLUSION OFFICE

Students can find many opportunities through this office including mentoring, scholarships, cultural programs and activities, and the Social Justice in Action Leadership Summit.

Faculty may want to encourage attendance at events hosted by this office. Assistance with developing a more inclusive curriculum and syllabus is also available.

The First Year Experience is here to help students integrate smoothly into Longwood University. This office oversees orientation, New Lancer Days, and Peer Mentors.

GREENWOOD LIBRARY

The Greenwood Library is a vital part of student success. There are plenty of databases for students to browse online. Students can access the databases from off campus as well, and there is a link to live chat with a librarian if the students needs assistance.

The library supports several technology initiatives including streaming videos, a multimedia lab, and computer labs.
